At Starlight Theatre Academy, we believe that every child, regardless of experience, confidence level or background, deserves a place to shine. We provide weekly performing arts classes, holiday clubs, birthday parties, after school clubs and school workshops.
Our classes feel like real-life magic for children, providing a space to have fun and embrace creativity while being fully seen, supported and encouraged by skilled, passionate staff.
With no more than 25 children per group, our classes are small. This means that we make sure that everyone gets involved, learns new skills and builds confidence. Whether they love to be the centre of attention or prefer to shy away from the limelight, there is a space for your child at Starlight.
We create a musical each term with our students. Combining students' favourite songs, well-known stories, and some typical Starlight magic, we work together to create an enjoyable family performance. Any student who wishes to will get a speaking role, and those who don't want to still take part in other positions such as Dance Captain and Assistant Director.
Ensuring that the arts are available to everyone is crucial to our academy. We are dedicated to embracing children of all abilities and confidence levels and are proud to support kids who might feel lost in bigger groups elsewhere. Here, no one is left out.
Additionally, we offer bursaries, scholarships, and Pay What You Can private LAMDA sessions. Your first taster session is also completely free.
Starlight Theatre Academy is a bespoke theatre school, catering for students who feel left out or overwhelmed by larger groups, run by dedicated, experienced teachers. All our staff, even our 16 year old assistants, have a full DBS check. At Starlight, the children come first.

Musical Theatre Classes for 6-15s
Saturdays 11am-1pm - St Hughs North Hykeham Sundays 2pm-5pm - Magnus Community Sports Centre, Newark Starlight Theatre Academy works towards TWO unique shows a year, written for the children in our classes ensuring every child gets a speaking role if they want one. An all round musical theatre class, with singing, dancing and drama technique and performance. We work on a skills term each year, and our sessions are relaxed and fun, designed to bring the best out of each student. STA classes are full of laughter, and we learn improvisation skills as well as performing scripted shows.

We had Katie deliver a wonderfully fun session for us at my son's fourth birthday celebration, she was fabulous!! Leading a dragon hunt around the woods, and managing to entertain and engage a range of ages with role play, puppets and games! The whole thing went better than we had hoped, Katie was so kind and generous with her time. Just the kind of calm and adaptive leader you need when hosting a child's party Thank you for making our celebrations so special Katie and team! Highly recommend

Emily hosted a totally engaging and dynamic party for my 8 year old drama/Harry Potter enthusiast. All the children were very focused and Emily and Katie ensured everyone was included. It was such a pleasure to see their imaginations fly. I was hoping the weather would be great and it was a joy to see them adapt to the outdoor space. One of the children gave their parent a “5 star review” so we were thrilled to hear all the children were happy, not just the birthday girl who declared it “the best birthday party ever”. Thank you.

My daughter has grown in confidence so much even though she’s only been at STA since January. The leaders and the children are wonderful, really welcoming and kind. The show was amazing (no expensive costumes to buy either.) I’d recommend STA to all my family and friends x

Our son absolutely LOVES Starlight! He joined Starlets with them when he was 4 and has recently moved into the Sunday class, we’ve also had STA for his “monster” themed birthday party and Emily was fantastic with the kids 🥰 He always comes home full of excitement to share with us the new songs and dance routines he’s been learning! It is just brilliant to see him doing something he enjoys so much and I can’t praise the staff highly enough! Thank you Starlight! 🎉

My little girl has been going for just under a year now and wow what a difference it has made....she is so happy and confident now and has made some lovely friends...we’ve struggled over the years to find her a group she likes but she absolutely loves this place. The staff are amazing with all the children and are so varied we love how it’s not too big like lots of other academies so the children don’t get lost!! I can’t recommend starlight enough!!
